The work involved developing engineering instructions, representing the airline in coordination with the aircraft manufacturer and MRO programs, and overseeing prototype implementation at an MRO facility in Guangzhou, China.

During execution of the prototype, problems with the service bulletin work instructions were identified, prompting engagement with the manufacturer to correct them before broader implementation.

Impact: the initiative improved the manufacturer's SB work instructions, produced clearer engineering instructions for maintenance teams, and reduced execution risk before fleetwide rollout.

737 Fuel Tank Leak Inspection AD Compliance Implementation

Representative experience behind KRD Aviation includes work on a 737 fuel tank leak inspection AD compliance project, where the manufacturer’s published instructions would have required extensive aircraft access, including removal of interior carpet, floor boards, and seats. 


The work involved technical analysis to support an approved alternative borescope-based inspection approach, as well as coordination with regulatory, manufacturer, planning, and maintenance stakeholders to ensure aviation compliance. Additionally, development of supporting engineering instructions and maintenance execution documents, including work card/task-card content, was integral to the project. 


Impact: This initiative helped maintenance execute the AD requirement more efficiently, reduced downtime exposure, avoided unnecessary interior removal, created a more practical compliance path, and supported execution while satisfying the compliance objective. The focus on effective MRO programs also contributed to improved engine management practices.

Structural & Repair Decision Support

Representative experience behind KRD Aviation includes structural and repair-related decision support involving technical issue evaluation, applicable guidance review, repair-path analysis, and repair vs. replace decision support within the framework of aviation compliance.
