Aircraft & Engine Lease Inspections

A lease runs for years, but the condition an aircraft or engine comes back in is decided long before the return date. We go on site, inspect the asset and its records, and tell you exactly where it stands against the lease.

When We Inspect

  • Delivery and transition. Making sure the aircraft or engine going to the next lessee matches the lease, the records and what you're being told.
  • Return. Checking the asset against the return conditions before you accept it, while the lessee is still on the hook to fix what's wrong.
  • Mid-lease. Seeing where the asset stands partway through the term, while there's still time and reserves to close the gaps. A finding at month 72 is a maintenance item. At month 144 it's a dispute.

What We Inspect

  • Aircraft physical inspection. Exterior walk-around, wheel wells, cargo holds, cockpit and cabin, checked against the lease's return condition standard.
  • Engines and APU. Borescope witness, trend and EGT margin review, and LLP status against the return requirements.
  • Landing gear and major components. Time remaining to overhaul compared with lease expiry.
  • Records and LLPs. AD/SB status, back-to-birth LLP traceability, repair and damage files, MEL deferrals and maintenance program compliance.
  • Utilization and reserves. Reported versus verified hours and cycles, and a maintenance reserve reconciliation.

AI-Assisted Cataloging

A thorough inspection produces hundreds of photos and dozens of findings, and the slow part has always been organizing them. We capture everything on a purpose-built inspection app: each photo is named and filed by aircraft or engine, area and finding the moment it's taken, and synced to the cloud as we go, so nothing gets lost between the ramp and the report.

AI-assisted tools then help sort the photos and notes into the findings register, cross-reference them against the records and draft the report. Every finding is still checked and graded by us. You get a complete, well-organized record of the asset, delivered faster than a manual write-up.

What You Receive

A written report built for decisions, not just a checklist:

  • An executive summary with an overall condition rating and the gap to return condition.
  • Condition by area, rated Good, Monitor or Action.
  • A findings register: every finding referenced, graded by severity and paired with a recommended action.
  • Projected condition at return for the engines, landing gear, APU and airframe checks.
  • Supporting photos and records extracts, each tied to the finding it supports.

Who We Inspect For

  • Aircraft and engine lessors and asset managers: return condition, records and residual value.
  • Lenders and financiers: verifying the condition of aircraft and engines held as collateral.
  • Airlines: lease return and transition teams who want a check before the lessor's own inspection.

How Engagements Work

Each inspection is scoped to the aircraft or engine type, the lease's return conditions, how complex the records are and where the asset is. We work on site at the lessee's base or the shop, in the US or abroad, for a single tail or engine or a whole portfolio.

Schedule a Lease Inspection

Tell us the aircraft or engine, where it is, the lease event coming up and what you want checked. We'll scope the inspection around it.
